Q. How do I know my load will be handled by a reputable Haulier. Does Needaload vet them and guarantee the service?
A. Yes, before any haulier is used, various checks take place to verify that the haulier is a bona fide member of the road haulage industry, that they have a current operators licence, adequate insurance and credit references and can comply with CTS Quality Assurance Requirements. CTS guarantees the service so must do this to safeguard its own position. Also, don't forget, CTS has operated in this way for many years. A great many reliable hauliers and owner-drivers are already well known to us and are giving excellent service.
Q. What if my company operates a Quality Management System that limits me to using hauliers on my approved suppliers list?
A. You only need to add CTS to your suppliers list. Regardless of who moves the load, your contract is with CTS only and CTS is an ISO 9002 Registered Firm. If you would like a copy of our current certificate please contact us.
Q. What if my load is lost or damaged or the quantity delivered doesn't match the quantity collected?
A. CTS takes full responsibility for your load and will take all necessary steps to locate loads or compensate you for any loss or damage. We are members of the Road Haulage Association and all goods are carried under RHA 1998 conditions of carriage. Copies are available from us on request.
Q. What if my load doesn't arrive on time, can I find out where it is? Will the driver know who and when to contact if, for example there is a major traffic delay or the vehicle breaks down or is involved in an accident?
A. It is just the same as dealing with the driver direct, you need only contact CTS. If there are any problems, drivers know to contact us and we will keep you informed. We know which driver has which load and they all have mobile communication links and can be contacted, usually at any time.
Q. If my load is hazardous, how do I know the driver is qualified to carry it?
A. We have a team of close associates who are fully Hazchem or Hazpack trained. If you tell us your load is hazardous, we will allow only a suitably trained driver to take it.
Q. If my load is valuable, how do I know if the haulier is adequately insured?
A. CTS will ensure all operators have adequate insurance. As a backup CTS insurance covers all loads up to a value of £300 per tonne. If you tell us it is worth more we will arrange additional cover. In addition we have public liability cover of one million pounds.
Q. How do I know the haulier won't upset my customer by, for example using a vehicle painted with their competitors name, logo or colours?
A. Tell us if there are any special instructions or issues such as this that need to be considered. If we know about them, they will be taken into consideration in our choice of haulier and passed on when the load is allocated.
Q. Will I get proof of delivery?
A. All pod's returned by hauliers will be sent with your invoice. All pod's are scanned and archived with our records, extra copies can be provided on request at anytime.
Q. Who am I working for and how do I know I shall be paid?
A. You will be working as a CTS sub-contractor as your contract will be with CTS. We are members of the Road Haulage Association and operate under RHA 1998 conditions of carriage. Credit references can be supplied on request.
Q. When do I get paid?
A. 30 days after month of delivery provided your invoice and pod(s) are received promptly.
Q. I havn't got access to the Needaload site when I'm on the road, can I find out what's available without logging on?
A. Yes, just telephone us and we will tell you what loads are available and we can text you a list if you have an in-cab mobile.
Q. How can I be sure the load will still be available when I ring up or by the time I get to the collection address and won't have been collected by another haulier?
A. This is no more likely to happen with NeedAload than with any other collection. If a load is listed you can be sure it is still available, the NeedAload database is in use and being up-dated all the time. Once you are allocated the load, it is removed from the list by the NeedAload team and cannot be re-allocated. The customer is informed immediately and the Needaload operator ensure it is ready for your collection.
Q. How long does it take to verify that I am a bona fide haulier suitable to carry the load, and what do you need to know?
A. This is only necessary if you are not already known by us. You will be asked a standard list of questions. Depending on the information we receive, it may take only a few minutes or it may be necessary to visit you to verify your management systems. Various checks take place including verifying that you have a current operators licence, adequate insurance and credit references and can comply with CTS Quality Assurance Requirements. CTS guarantees the service so must do this to safeguard its own position. Contact us now and we will start the process so you are ready to use NeedAload when you wish.
Q. How can I be sure the load will be ready when I arrive to collect it or that I won't be kept waiting for hours to offload?
A. This is no different from any other collection and delivery. If you have particular time constraints you must tell the NeedAload operator. He/she will take these into consideration when allocating loads to you and will convey them to the customer. If there is any doubt about waiting time you will be told and may decide for yourself what to do.
Q. What if I am looking for a load and it is outside normal office hours, will there be anybody there to speak to me?
A. Yes. Out of Hours numbers are given on the CTS contact page and a NeedAload operator will be available ....(except between midnight and 6.00am!!)
